Carpetlight is a flexible, roll up lighting system that uses e-textiles with conductive threads rather than wires. This gives them the flexibility to be able to be hung as a wall hanging, draped from the ceiling, or even scrunched up, knotted or shaped. The fabrics used can be personalised, as can the size and shape of the lights, and the website even includes photos of the lights being stitched together.
#ThinkDo
- Investigate Carpetlight further including how it’s made and what it might be used for
- Carpetlight is great inspiration for a GCSE or A level project as a way of rethinking lighting solutions which are normally based on hard material outcomes.
