KS3 & KS4 New Curriculum: Maximising Progression in D&T                                                  FOR ALL D&T TEACHERS

This course is delivered by Julie & Paul Boyd

The venue is in central Watford close to the High Street train station and approximately a 40 minute train journey from London Euston. 

  • An overview of the new curriculum at KS3 & what it means for your department
  • How to adapt your D&T curriculum in line with the new KS3 curriculum
  • Considering how your department will meet the challenges of change at KS4 & 5 in the future
  • Creating a curriculum that embeds progression & creativity
  • Creating good learning habits as a basis for GCSE (including using Bloom’s Taxonomy effectively) 
  • Tried and tested tips and strategies on engaging all learners including boys, G&T, & D/C borderline students
  • Focus on key areas identified by Ofsted e.g. effective use of Assessment for Learning, increasing creativity, higher level thinking skills
  • Ideas on effective assessment with the removal of levels
  • This course is targeted at all D&T teachers & does not focus on any one materials area. It focuses on the Design & Make attainment target & limited reference will be made to the Cooking & Nutrition attainment target.
  • The course will include a free teaching and learning resource pack to take away with you
