  • A light that doubles up as book storage (and a Christmas tree!)
  • Great interview with Iris Van Herpen about her work and influences
  • This year’s report by the Soil Association ‘Thirsty for Fashion’ compares the impact of organic cotton to the that of more conventionally grown cotton. Facts and figures include organic cotton reducing water consumption by 91%, along with a host of other environmental benefits. The website gives a quick summary of the benefits of organic cotton and the full report can be downloaded for free with a range of useful facts and figures including links to the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals (page 19) and a useful poster comparing organic and conventionally grown cotton (page 4). The full article is a very long read so it’s more appropriate for A level students but it may also be of interest to other students interested in sustainability issues and the fashion and textiles industry.
