Getting ready for my first big show!

It's that time of year when it is still cold but on some days you can feel that Spring is very close. With Spring and the milder weather getting out and about seems more appealing than cuddling up by the fire which is what many of us have been doing over the past few months. The desire to shake off the winter blues might therefore account for the fact that there always seems to be quite a few big shows on over the next few weeks.

In previous blogs I have mentioned that I have a stand at one of these big shows. I will be at the Fashion, Embroidery and Stitch Show at the NEC from 21st - 24th March 2013 on stand N14. Entry to the show also includes free entry to the Sewing for Pleasure and Hobbycraft events that are on at the same time. This means there is lots to look at and lots to inspire you no  matter what area of textiles you are interested in. For more information on the show click here  .

At the show I will have lots of examples of the high tech textiles products I have been writing about in the recent Sewing World magazine articles. You will be able to see up close how to apply e-textiles components and find out more about what they are. I will also have several great machines on the stand that are good for both hobby sewers and teachers in schools (thanks to Coles Sewing Centre in Nottingham who are providing the Husqvarna Viking machines I will be using). There will be lots of information about teacher and adult workshops I am running and a chance to chat with me about e-textiles and any other textiles related topics that interests you.

If you want to have a very textilesy week why not also visit the Spring Knitting and Stitching Show at Olympia II in London which is a few days before the NEC one (from 14th - 17th March). This is another great show with lots to see and do (and buy!!). For more information visit www.twistedthread.com

Getting ready for the show is keeping me extremely busy especially as it is my first big show where I am exhibiting rather than just browsing so I am not sure what to expect - I will let you know how I get on after the event!
